We stayed at a wonderful chateau in Loire Valley. It was everything we wanted in a vacation spot: peaceful, quiet, and cozy. The chateau has grounds for hiking where we climbed to the top of the hill and found rows upon rows of grape vines. The best part? Not a single person in sight.
This was our home for the stay in Amboise. It was a small cottage detached from the chateau. Right around the corner was the trail up to the tranquil vineyard.I could have stayed here for a month. The only thing that would have made it better would be to have a kitchenette inside the cottage for cooking up goodies from the farmer’s market. Mornings were made more special with a simple breakfast served in the main house. We enjoyed a variety of fresh bread from the boulangerie, local honey, house made preserves, fresh seasonal fruit juices, and organic, locally produced yogurt. What a great way to start the day. Now it’s time for some chateauing!
