Wine Tasting in Valle de Guadalupe

Wine Tasting in Valle de Guadalupe

This past weekend, we made the trip out to Valle de Guadalupe located in the mountains between Tijuana and Ensenada. It has been nearly 7 years since the last time we visited and my oh my do things change. I didn’t remember seeing anything like […]

Cabernet Jelly

Cabernet Jelly

Do you ever have leftover wine from dinners, parties, or otherwise? If so, making wine jelly is a great way to use up the excess wine (tip from thekitchn). I wouldn’t know about leftover wine since we rarely have any sitting around that long, unless […]

52 Weeks: 1/52

52 Weeks: 1/52

Welcome to my new post series titled 52 Weeks. With the start of the new year I thought this would be a good time to begin documenting some everyday activities and random stuff throughout the year to share. Let’s see how it goes, but so far you can expect to see lots of food, drink, recipes in the works, snipets of local spots (new ones and favorites), pups, and lots of other random stuff. Oh yah… I am hoping I can hang in there for the year and see this one through. I hope you enjoy!

Since we didn’t get around to opening this bottle of champagne on NYE, we decided to enjoy it the next morning with breakfast in a kir royale.

The weather has been warm and very summer-like which made for a nice walk on New Year’s Day at Cabrillo National Monument. This sign caught my attention… below you see why.

Enjoying a mocha and sandwich for lunch. The mocha was a special treat for me since I have to limit myself, but I did go back the next day for another! Ok, no more for a long time.

Headed to Tijuana for a day trip (post to come next week). Thanks to a road that fell apart, we needed to use 2 GPS devices to get to our destination. And so the adventure begins.

Ahhhh we made it! Wine tasting and lunch in Valle de Guadalupe. I can’t wait to share more from the trip.

On the way back, we hit up Mariscos el Mazateno where I ordered their popular shrimp tacos. These things are enormous and one taco was more than enough for me. The deep fried fish taco was even better then the shrimp and now I’m wanting to go back for more.

Little Miss loves her new bed. Too bad she has to share with her other brothers!

2014: Happy New Year!

2014: Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, folks! I can’t believe it’s already 2014, but then again, I always say that. It seems like every year goes by faster and faster. That’s why I need to make this year count and actually DO something worthwhile like take some risks. […]
