Spring 2013: The Good Stuff

Hello stranger! It’s been a while, I know. But! There’s a good reason it’s been quiet here on the blog. You see, I have no functioning kitchen (more later this week) so that means no tasty treats have been made. That means I’m eagerly awaiting my small harvest of peaches, raspberries, blueberries, olallieberries, lemons, plums, and radishes. Above, you’ll see my first olallieberries which I’m super excited to taste. We had to keep the chickens away by putting chicken wire around the base of the plants, but those ladies are smart and they see the red ripe fruit and are definitely trying to get to the good stuff.

Hopefully, I’ll have enough berries to make a small fruit tart. There’s nothing more nutritious and satisfying than growing and eating your own fruits and veggies. No GMO nastiness here. Bruno also loves fresh berries and basically anything edible and even some things that aren’t.

Here’s Lucca and a bunch of fresh radishes just pulled from the ground. Nice!

Meet Big “P”. She loves ripe tomatoes, radishes, strawberries, and berries. Really, she’s not picky and will eat anything and everything in our garden. I kinda don’t mind that much because, after all, she does have great taste!
